Women’s Health Protection Act, S 510

To stop states from imposing restrictions on abortions that do not apply to any other similar medical care, interfere with patient’s personal decision making, and block access to safe, legal abortion care.

Women’s Health Act of 2018, HR 6315

To provide women with increased access to preventive and life-saving cancer screening, including clinical breast exams and cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancer screening.  To expand preventive health services with emphasis on cancer screening, pap tests, human papillomavirus vaccination, and diagnostic testing.

Invest in Womens’ Health Act of 2017, S 689

To provide women with increased access to preventive and life-saving cancer screening, including clinical breast exams and cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancer screening.  To expand preventive health services with emphasis on cancer screening, pap tests, human papillomavirus vaccination, and diagnostic testing.

The Paycheck Fairness Act, HR 1869 and S 819

A proposed amendment to the Equal Pay Act to prohibit employers from penalizing employees for sharing information about their salaries, make it easier to file class action suits, and allow compensatory and punitive damages. 

Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2018, HR 6797

To reauthorize funding for various domestic violence programs such as enforcement of orders of protection, legal assistance for victims, sex offender management, court appointed special advocate program, rural domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse and violence crimes on campuses.

Child Care for Working Families Act, HR 3773

To ensure that no low to moderate income family pays more than 7 percent of its household income on child  care and to help child care programs meet evidence-based or national standards to improve the quality of health care, including before and after school and summer care for school age children.

Affordable Loans for Any Student Act, S 3584

To end federal loan origination fees and the practice of interest capitalization as well as reducing the number of repayment plans to two; an income based payment plan, and a fixed 10 year plan.  Simplify the process of enrolling in either repayment plan. 

Recent Grads in Start Ups and Innovation Act, HR 6579

Borrowers owning small businesses as defined in the Small Businss Act would be eligible for deferment on their federal direct loans for up to four years if their business is located in a qualified “opportunity zone.” 

HELPS Act, S 3124

The Help Encourage a Lifetime of Public Service (HELPS) would mean interest would not accrue for qualifying loans made on or after the bill’s enactment date for individuals employed in public service fields as outlined in the Higher Education Act, including volunteer first responders and employees or managers of a qualified farm or ranch.  Eligible borrowers would be required to submit an annual employment certification form to receive the waiver each year.

Human Trafficking Accountability Act, HR 3304

Amends the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015 to direct DOJ to designate a Human Trafficking Coordinator in each federal judicial district to implement the National Strategy for Combatting Human Trafficking and to prosecute cases, conduct outreach, and enforce laws related to human trafficking.
