Call to Convention

Oh Boy!  This has been an unusual time for all of us, but especially as your President.  We, as executive team, have continued to move the goals of IFBWC forward.  We are excited to announce the first ever digital IFBWC convention.  The decision to hold a digital convention was done with much careful planning.  We wish to keep everyone safe and healthy.  Convention will take place this Spring on a tighter 1-day schedule packed with meaningful content.  The executive team will host convention from the approved location of the Holiday Inn Champaign, but we will be asking each of you to attend by Zoom, following the Bylaws as they currently exist.  We are also holding a digital pre-convention Board meeting Friday and a digital post-convention board meeting Sunday afternoon by Zoom.

I appreciate all of you that attended our groundbreaking ZOOM meetings over the past 2 years.  I appreciate the executive team, and all of the past parliamentarians that I’ve reached out to and their response and assistance to the unique circumstances.

Even more exciting is that the executive team has voted to use the convention sponsorship budget to sponsor each and everyone of you.  That is right; there is no cost to you to register and attend our April convention.  We just ask that you only register if you actually plan to attend since we rely on registration data to confirm quorum.  I look forward to seeing your faces brady bunch style over Zoom.

We have some interesting bylaw changes up for discussion, including providing greater flexibility in the future for digital conventions.  To vote, we need quorum.  For that to happen, we NEED YOU.
